Beam Therapeutics

Medical technology company installs cutting-edge hand sanitizing fixture CATEGORIESContract Products/AccessoriesMedical Technology PROJECT Beam Therapeutics LOCATION Research Triangle Park, North Carolina PRODUCT SPECS Hand sanitizer dispenser Material: Aluminum Challenge Few industries are more hyper-focused on strict cleanliness practices than those involved in medical research. Beam Therapeutics, a biotechnology company developing cures for disease through gene editing technology, is no exception. After years of research, the company was ready to begin developing gene therapy products, and they built their first manufacturing facility in Research Triangle Park in North Carolina. The building design incorporated contamination control features and best sanitization practices.  As they neared completion on the 180,000-square-foot facility, Mandy Stone, Director of Environmental Health and Safety, was disappointed with the options for providing hand sanitizer in the space. “We wanted something that was more inviting and durable than a typical plastic dispenser,” she said. Solution Fortunately, Stone, along with Tanya Blankenship, Associate Director of Maintenance, came across Vaask at the right stage of construction and planning for the building.  “We knew it was something we had to have for the facility after coming through the COVID-19 pandemic, and we wanted a design that would work in different areas of the building that are more highly trafficked,” Stone said.  One fixture sits near a clean room that has strict rules for maintaining a sterile environment to protect against contamination.  Two other fixtures are strategically placed to encourage people to sanitize their hands as they move through high-traffic common areas: the lobby and the employee entrance. Blankenship was impressed with the sturdiness of the Vaask fixture and the metal mounting options. She knew everyone would also benefit from how easy they are to maintain.  The ability to refill fixtures with the sanitizer gel of their choice also helped drive their decision to install Vaask.  “We love being able to buy sanitizer in bulk and cut down on the excess plastic,” Blankenship said. The maintenance crew appreciates the features that make maintenance more efficient. The large sanitizer tank goes longer between refills, and being free from batteries is a big time saver. On every level, Vaask has been a perfect match for Beam Therapeutics.  “They are simple to maintain and keep clean, and also very reliable,” Stone said. “Plus, they have such a nice aesthetic.”

Vaask at Tachi Palace Casino Resort

Tachi Palace Casino Resort

Service, quality led casino to install 20 Vaask fixtures CATEGORIESContract Products/AccessoriesPublic Buildings PROJECT Tachi Palace Casino Resort LOCATION Lemoore, California PRODUCT SPECS Hand sanitizer dispenser Material: Aluminum Challenge While every business was hit hard by the pandemic, casinos and restaurants faced some of the biggest challenges. Tachi Palace Casino Resort, operating in Lemoore, Calif., by the Tachi Yokut tribe, searched for any sanitizer it could get its hands on — and bought in bulk. “We had every type of container you can imagine, ranging from portable bottles on desks to wall-hung units we made, along with every kind of signage you can imagine,” Facilities Manager James Silveira said. But all those dispensers not only worked against the facility’s upscale look, but the sanitizer itself did not have a pleasing scent. Because dispensers routinely spurted out more than necessary, customers often clap their hands, and residue would land on walls and machines. Soon the maintenance team found peeling paint and damaged electronic keypads. The associates even suspected the sanitizer was damaging chairs because guests rubbed off the excess and caused the high-end material to crack.  “We just completed a major renovation with high-quality furniture, so we didn’t want to shorten the material’s lifespan via excess sanitizer dispensed by our current dispensers,” Silveira said.  Tachi Palace knew they needed to look for alternatives. When the pandemic eased, the tribe was deep into a sweeping renovation of the entire facility. A better hand-sanitizing solution needed to be found — one people would love and that fit into Tachi Palace’s new aesthetics. Solution After Silveira got approval from his director at the trade show, the facility placed its first order for 20 Vaask fixtures, and Tachi Palace couldn’t be happier.  “We were looking for durable, uniform dispensers that would fit into our resort look and feel, and Vaask delivered,” Silveira said. Tachi Palace has installed Vaask fixtures in high-traffic areas, including its hotel lobby, elevators and escalators, and new sports bar. Silveira said that from a maintenance perspective, Vaask provides convenience, usability, and ease of operation. The dispensers’ installation proved simple and quick, and the Vaask team was easy to reach when a question arose. With Vaask’s fixture, precisely the right amount of gel is dispensed, so there’s no more damage to the furnishings. And Silveira said he’d heard nothing but positive feedback from guests and other associates about the fixtures. After experiencing Vaask’s quality in both product and service, Silveira plans to install more units at Tachi Palace soon — everywhere from conference rooms to banquet rooms and all bars. The tribe is very selective in choosing whom to do business with, as they want built-to-last products that match their vision for the resort to be around and generate income for their descendants for generations to come. “We want good service because we’re a 24/7 operation, and our clientele isn’t always easy on our products,” Silveira said. “We must have durable products that are long-lasting with  great service. Vaask has hit the mark.” ABOUT TACHI PALACE Tachi Palace Casino Resort is owned and operated by Tachi-Yokut Tribe. Tachi Palace is in Lemoore, CA, on the Santa Rosa Rancheria.
