This year’s honorees included vaccines for COVID-19 and malaria, an emotional support robot for hospitalized children and an environmentally friendly dye for jeans. “It’s a tremendous honor to be recognized by a publication with the longevity and authority of TIME,” Vaask Founder Jon Olsen said. European Product Design Award

Vaask wins European Product Design Award 2021

This is the second design award for the world’s finest hand sanitizer dispenser SEPTEMBER 10, 2021 — AUSTIN, TEXAS — Vaask, the world’s finest hand sanitizer dispenser purposefully designed for modern spaces, has been awarded a European Product Design Award in the Design for Society category. The European Product Design Award annually honors the best in product design from around the world with the goal of advancing the appreciation of design. An esteemed jury panel of design experts carefully evaluate all applications and award products that are most innovative, sustainable and visually pleasing. “The idea to create an aesthetically pleasing, contactless hand sanitizer came at the start of the pandemic. People were having terrible experiences with the products in the market at a time when hand sanitization was more essential than ever before — irregular pumps, design failures, bad smells and so on. Vaask is an answer to all these issues, and with its sleek ‘sink-and-faucet-design,’ it creates a pleasing impression for anyone visiting your space,” Vaask Founder Jon Olsen said about the European Product Design Award win. Inspired by the Norwegian word for ‘wash,’ Vaask recognizes the need for a higher class of clean. Honored with a 2021 Red Dot Award earlier this year, Vaask elevates the sanitizer experience from tired to inspired with these premium features: All-metal construction: Finishes include brass, brushed chrome and custom options. Mounting options: Choose between in-wall, surface and freestanding pedestal. Precise functionality: Engineered laser-guided hand tracking eliminates drips and mess. Refined formula: Vaask’s sanitizer is available in modern herbal fragrances with no harsh chemicals. Long lasting and flexible: Each high-capacity, eco-friendly sanitizer tank contains 2,200 uses. Tanks can be refilled with any alcohol-based gel sanitizer. All Vaask components are guaranteed for five years. About Vaask Vaask is the world’s finest hand hygiene system for interiors with high design standards. With an adaptable design, high-quality metal finishes, laser-guided technology and eco-friendly, refillable sanitizer cartridges, Vaask is a permanent defense against all hand sanitization challenges. Design jury notes product’s design makes ‘an emotional impact on the user’ JUNE 21, 2021 — AUSTIN, TEXAS — Vaask, the first hand sanitizer dispenser purposefully designed for the most sophisticated spaces, has been named a winner of the prestigious Red Dot Product Design Award. A play on the Norwegian word for “wash,” Vaask embodies clean lines and clean hands. It’s the work of Founder Jon Olsen and members of the team behind the sophisticated Haiku ceiling fan by Big Ass Fans that has won more than 75 design and technology awards. Crafted of anodized machined aluminum, Vaask features finishes using real materials, including brass and brushed stainless. Vaask’s modern herbal fragrances eliminate harmful chemicals found in everyday sanitizers. Automated low-level display warnings ensure you will never run out of sanitizer. In honoring the product, the Red Dot jury wrote, “Vaask is an exceptional example of how good design can transform an everyday product into an object that has both an aesthetic and an emotional impact on the user.” Added Dr. Peter Zec, CEO of Red Dot: “The winners of the Red Dot Award: Product Design 2021 were particularly impressive this year. The design of their products is excellent, in terms of both the aesthetic and the functionality. It’s not easy to prevail in such a strong field of competitors and to win over our jury.” Since 1955, the Red Dot Award has recognized the world’s best products with more than 18,000 entries received this year. The international panel of experts comprises specialists from a wide variety of sectors who judge the products based on characteristics including quality, ergonomics and longevity. Vaask can be seen in the online exhibition. Vaask will also be included in the exhibition “Design on Stage” in the Red Dot Design Museum Essen, where all of the award-winning products are showcased. Visitors to the museum can experience the quality of the designs in a space that features contemporary design solutions and historical industrial architecture. Vaask will also be featured in the Red Dot Design Yearbook 2021/2022 coming out in August 2021. The book provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art and trends in product design. About the Red Dot Design Award In order to appraise the diversity in the field of design in a professional manner, the Red Dot Design Award breaks down into the three disciplines of Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Brands & Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept. With more than 18,000 entries, the Red Dot Award is one of the world’s largest design competitions. In 1955, a jury convened for the first time to assess the best designs of the day. In the 1990s, Red Dot CEO Professor Dr. Peter Zec developed the name and brand of the award. Ever since, the sought-after distinction “Red Dot” has been the revered international seal of outstanding design quality. The award winners are presented in the yearbooks, museums and online.
